Help me solve this difficult riddle?
In Mays office, there are two water tanks providing water to the office: a primary water tank, which is a sphere with a 4.5 metre radius, and a much larger backup water tank. During the busy office days, the primary water tank became empty. The Boss ordered his employeese to carry bucketfuls of water from the larger backup water tank to the primary water tank.The Boss ordered his employees to fill the tank so that the water is exactly 6.5 metres deep at the center. If one bucket of water holds exactly 10 litres, how many bucketfuls of water are required to fill the tank to the required depth? Round up to the nearest whole number.
1st, the volume of the tank is (4/3)π(4.5)^3 = 381.7035 cubic meters. The part left unfilled is a spherical cap whose volume formula is (π/6)(3r1² + h²)h, where r1 is the radius of the base of the cap, and h is its height. The height here is 9 – 6.5 = 2.5, and r1² = 4.5² – (6.5-4.5)² = 16.25.
So the volume of the unfilled cap is (π/6)(3*16.25 – 2.5²)*2.5 = 55.6324 cubic meters. We subtract that from the volume of the tank to get 326.0711 cubic meters of water when the tank is filled 6.5 meters deep.
Now one liter fills a cube 1/10 of a meter on a side (10 cm), so a bucket is 1/100 of a cubic meter. Multiplying the required volume gives 32,607.11 buckets, which rounds up to 32,608.
Mathgirl mistakenly assumed the volume of the tank was proportional to the depth of water, which would be true for a cylinder, but not for a sphere.

Selling One Specific Item…You can find a high-impulse item, such as pepper sprays, which are something that most people need and want, but they are not sold everywhere that you turn. Maybe you can buy a few dozen at wholesale prices, and then get out there and peddle them at retail prices to everyone that you know or come in contact with. These trusty little self defense items are small and lightweight, thus easy to carry, and are not very expensive, and many people WILL buy one on impulse!
Washing Cars or Mowing Lawns…You have neighbors who are way too busy and do not have the time to wash their car or mow their lawn, and they might be willing to pay you to do it.
Making and Selling Crafts…Some guys enjoy woodworking and can make things like stools and storage chests, and there are women who are masters of making the finest greeting cards that you have ever seen. You can make things and sell them to folks in your town, or by using the internet you can reach the world!
Article Marketing Writer…This would be great if you have some writing ability! You can find people who just got their own website, but don’t really have the writing skills, and they will pay you to write articles for them. They will then re-post these articles on a website such as www.ArticlesBase.com which is where you may be reading this piece! This posting of articles causes the website owner to get additional exposure for his or her website! I know about this because I have done it for years!
